Permit Plans |

Planning is the key to success. The BEST BUILDING PLANS are those that are yours! Before you begin developing your Permit Plans, your Preliminary Plans should be approved by your local Community Development Department. Getting started is easy now that you have approved preliminary plans you may need to retain the following two Professions: 1. Take your approved Development Review Plans to a State Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) and ask him or her if they would act as the Engineer of Record for your project. Present your approved preliminary plans to the P.E. of your choice in order to get things going. The P.E. commonly uses other state licensed engineers of his or her choice for things like Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Plumbing Engineering. The P.E. you select may also want to use his or her preferred State Licensed Architect or may prefer to continue using my services during the development of your Permit Plans and incorporate his or her Wet Stamp and Signature for the Permit Plan check submittal package. The P.E. will give you a cost estimate for completion of the Permit Plans. 2. Take your approved Development Review Plans to a State Licensed General Contractor (G.C.) and ask him or her if they would act as the General Contractor for your project. Present your approved preliminary plans to the G.C. of your choice in order to get things going. The G.C. will commonly use other State Licensed Contractors of his or her choice for sub contracting things like Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical construction. The G.C. will give you a preliminary cost estimate for construction based on the preliminary plans. After the Permit Plans are completed, submitted and Approved by the Community Development Department and/or other governmental agencies the G.C. will provide you with I final cost estimate. |
